Hi, I'm Shailer, aka Magick Shay!
In the summer of 2020 I left my job as a full time nanny to live out of a van on an organic hemp farm in Vermont. The farm offered me a refuge from the chaos of the pandemic. But after a rough and rowdy season slinging hemp I was ready to get out of the grit and work with CBD on my own terms- in a way that felt aligned with my own gifts.
In the quiet months that followed I began to dream a new dream: a skincare line that reflected my experiences living on the farm and my training as an herbalist.
About six months into my business I began to realize that my products were not like the rest. People were sending me photos of their skin clearing up after years of struggling with acne and finding relief from eczema, psoriasis, and chronic skin conditions when nothing else had worked. I got so inspired by the changes I was seeing in people's skin I decided to go back to school and get my esthetics license. As a licensed esthetician I get to professionally treat skin everyday from my own private studio in Brattleboro, VT. Dream life unlocked!
Even though I don't make my CBD products anymore, as an esthetician I rely on my apothecary of plant based ingredients to support and heal the skin. My facials tell the story of my own journey and are a blend of plant magic and medicine, massage, reiki, and modern skin science. I like to think of my facials as more of an experience than a treatment, with my approach being more intuitive than clinical. Honestly- I'm pretty psychic when it comes to skin. ✨
When I went back to school for esthetics I didn't expect to fall in love with waxing. In fact, I was SO intimidated by it! But I found I had a knack for it and with a little extra training and a lot of practice I was able to establish myself as *the* brazilian wax specialist for the greater Brattleboro area.
After two years and hundreds of brazilian waxes it's safe to say I truly love it and I've found my calling. I love helping women and non binary people feel more comfortable with their bodies and knowing I am making their busy lives just a little bit easier. Monthly wax appointments become a safe space to vent and catch up with each other while a wax before a birthday or anniversary signifies a special ritual I feel honored to be a part of.
